Johnny yang terlahir dengan nama John Christopher Depp II ini adalah seorang aktor asal Amerika Serikat yang pernah dinominasikan dalam Academy Award. Ia terkenal karena pandai memainkan beraneka ragam tokoh-tokoh dengan sifat-sifat yang berbeda. Johnny pernah menjalin asmara dengan aktris Hollywood yang merupakan lawan mainnya dalam EDWARD'S SCISSORHAND. Setelah hubungan mereka retak Johnny mengencani supermodel Inggris Kate Moss namun hubungan ini pun tidak bertahan. Hubungan asmaranya yang terakhir yaitu dengan penyanyi Vanessa Paradis, dan mereka telah dikarunia 2 anak tanpa pernikahan. Sebelum tinggal bersama dengan Vanessa, ia pernah menikah dengan Lori Anne Allison yang berprofesi sebagai make up artis. Rumah tangga pasangan ini tak bertahan lama. Keduanya bercerai setelah tiga tahun menikah.
KARIR
Johnny Depp mungkin bisa disebut sebagai salah satu aktor yang paling mengesankan di dunia industri film Hollywood dengan karakter Captain Jack Sparrow yang dimainkannya dalam PIRATES OF CARIBBEAN: THE CURSE OF BLACK PEARL di tahun 2003. Padahal sebelum mencapai kesuksesannya seperti saat ini, dulu ia pernah kecanduan narkotik. Johnny bahkan putus sekolah ketika berusia 15 tahun.
Namun hidupnya berubah ketika ia bersama istrinya, Lori A. Depp, memutuskan untuk pindah ke Los Angeles. Disana, ia bertemu dengan aktor Nicolas Cage, yang mengantarkannya menuju karir di dunia film. Debut filmnya yaitu A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET (1984), yang kemudian dilanjutkan dengan bermain dalam serial 21 JUMP STREET di pertengahan tahun 1980-an.
Namun namanya baru melambung ketika mulai bermain film di bawah arahan sutradara Tim Burton dalam EDWARD SCISSORHANDS (1990). Sejak saat itu Johnny selalu terpilih untuk memerankan tokoh yang berkarakter gelap. Dia kembali berakting dalam film arahan Burton yang lain seperti ED WOOD (1994), SLEEPY HOLLOW (1999), dan CORPSE BRIDE (2005).
Johnny juga memerankan tokoh Willy Wonka, pemilik perusahaan cokelat dalam CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY (2005) dan ALICE IN WONDERLAND (2010) sebagai Mad Hatter, masih dibawah arahan Burton.
